Victoria's Promise support young women with cancer. Read how they help and why our U9s are proudly wearing their logo this year.

In the catchment of the Hampshire Hospital NHS Trustee, Victoria’s Promise supports women between the ages of 18-45, as well as their home and family, with care provision to meet their needs. This includes specialist therapies to overcome physical and emotional challenges during treatment, 1-2-1 yoga, housecleaning, childminding, counselling for her and her immediate family members. We also provide critical services to support the individual needs in severe cases - laundry service, daily care or whatever is required to ensure we are there to ease the journey.

VP affinity is available to women aged between 18-45 throughout the UK. VP affinity offers women the opportunity to meet other women of similar age and similar lifestyle to connect and inter support each other so that they feel a community spirit. VP affinity runs both live and online workshops, yoga classes, PT classes, coffee mornings, singalong, has a VP choir and runs VP Connect which is a first stage introduction to the charity and a chance to meet 1 or 2 other ladies in an informal and gentle environment.

They supported a Thatcham lady, Anna Smith, and her family, husband Ed and their daughter Alba after Anna was diagnosed with bowel cancer in June 2017. Alba was only 6months old at the time Anna was diagnosed. Anna died a year later aged 38. The support Victoria's Promise gave to Anna and her family was truly amazing and really did make a difference during her diagnosis.

Rob Lyons, manager of Thatcham Town Harriers under 9's Blue, is a close friend of Anna and Ed. His team are proudly wearing the Victoria's Promise logo on their shirts this year.
