Guidelines for training sessions

The FA have announced new guidance for permitted football activity that allows us to start training in small sessions.

At this time we are checking with the council which facilities we can use for training. The decision to resume training will be made by your team manager who will be in contact when ready to commence again.

The club will be following these guidelines and ask that you read the additional information below and support the coaches in getting our children back to football in a safe environment.

  1. Prior to training the coach will determine if you can safely carry out training with suitable distancing between players and groups. Should other teams be around and this is not possible you should not train. Training will only commence with the agreement of the parents.
  2. Parents, please do not leave until you have confirmed the session has started.
  3. Please remind your child on the importance of maintaining the 2m distancing during training, and that there will be no small sided games.
  4. There will be hand sanitiser for use before and after the session.
  5. Sharing of equipment will be kept to a minimum.
  6. When training in small groups if there are more than 5 players the session will need to break into two groups. There must be another adult within watching distance to support the coach. Ideally, this will be another coach or registered volunteer (DBS checked). Failing that a parent will need to stay and watch from a safe distance.
  7. When training comprises of more than 10 individuals, there will be two coaches or one coach and a registered volunteer (DBS checked) present.
  8. Under no circumstances are there to be any small sided games or practices that include physical contact.
  9. Should you have any concerns over how sessions are being held you can contact our Welfare Officer (welfare@thatchamtownharriers.club) or Club Secretary (clubsec@thatchamtownharriers.club).

Stay safe and we look forward to getting back to football.
