Do you have a son or daughter wanting to play football? Are you interested in becoming a FA qualified coach?

Coaches needed to support U6 and U7 teams

Over the past seasons Andrew Jackson has run an U6 development session on Saturday mornings, this would then hopefully progress into U7's with a supportive parent picking up the team. Unfortunately, this year we have no U6, U7 or U8 development teams.

We have children wanting to play and really want to provide them this opportunity.

We desperately need volunteer coaches to support these age groups. For U6 this is typically a Saturday morning training session and for the U7s training and a Sunday development match in the Reading & West Berkshire League.

We are looking for people with a passion for helping young players develop in a safe, fun environment providing footballing opportunities to players of all skills from our community.

If you are interested, please contact the club at treasurer@thatchamtownharriers.club or call Karl on 07866 546263

For those willing to take on a coaching position the club will provide:

  • Funding for FA Level 1 qualification (and Level 2 if this interests you or if you already hold the Level 1)
  • Support from existing coaches and committee to get you up and running
  • DBS check

As part of your Level 1 you will learn about the The FA's DNA that forms the basis of how we play, not only through grassroots but throughout the England age groups including the senior squad.

Once qualified you can become a member of the FA Licensed Coaches club which offers on-going training and development activities. Being a coach is a rewarding experience as you develop young players as footballers and individuals.
